Email Safety

Be Wary about Clicking on Links

Do not click on unsolicited links you receive in e-mail or other non-College messages. They likely lead to a malicious website intended to compromise your computer or your personal data. Even if you think the link is legitimate (i.e. appears to be from a SCF.edu email account), Confirm Before You Click!

Also, remember that most third party e-mail and messaging systems are not secure.

Files Attached to Emails and other non-College messages: Be Skeptical; Be Safe

Be cautious opening unanticipated email attachments. When in doubt, call a known, good contact number and verify with the sender prior to opening an unexpected attachment.
